I became fascinated with Romare Bearden's amazing art when an exhibit of his paintings organized by the National Gallery was exhibited at the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art. As a docent at SFMOMA, I gave tours to school groups. I could barely get the students to move on to the next painting because there was always so much to discuss and enjoy about each of his enormous collages.
